Karen studied music at Bath University, Welsh College of Music and Guildhall School of Music. At home in all musical genres credits include Grace Jones, Ute Lemper, Willard White, Martin Taylor, Tim Garland, Mike Westbrook, The Nash Ensemble, Ice Breaker Opera North, BBC Philharmonic, the RPO, LSO, WNO, Royal Opera House , Ballet Rambert and the Strictly Come Dancing live band.
She has produced four CD’s of her own compositions and arrangements.
As a saxophone player she was a member of the all girl saxophone quartet 'The Fairer Sax' who appeared on television and radio and at festivals all over the world.
Karen writes music for saxophone, accordion and various other ensembles and her music is published by Boosey & Hawkes, June Emerson, Saxtet Publications, Music Sales, Trinity/Guildhall and Gumbles publications . Her composition for solo accordion "In the Ballroom with the Rope" took first prize at the London Accordion Festival, Composition Competition, 2001. www.karenstreet.com
